About

Hi, I’m Laura. I started this blog after finding a lump in my breast at 36. Turned out to be HER2+ stage 3B invasive ductal carcinoma – it as in my lymph nodes and skin.

After 6 rounds of TCHP and a double mastectomy to flat, I was considered to be cancer-free. Then I did 25 rounds photon radiation at Mayo Clinic (they’re amazing) plus the rest of the HP part of chemo for several more months. Because I was slightly ER+, I underwent a second phase of treatment that left me with ongoing medical issues and disabilities.

Cancer was one thing, life another. During the two years of treatment, life happened, including divorce, bankruptcy, and becoming a single mom. But I’m here! Still with a sense of humor that keeps me going.
