Chemotherapy,  Treatment

Chemo is a go

Never have I been so excited to get chemo! ????

I must have some kind of cold because those platelets really shot up (I went from 47 to 253 – I needed anything over 75). I do have a watery nose but it hasn’t been anything that’s annoying me. (OK, maybe a little bit.)

When I went in to get bloodwork done, I noticed the COVID notice had gone from one visitor allowed to NONE. So my friend is unable to go with me for the infusion, which is a real bummer. But, thanks to technology, we can livestream and watch shows. She’s a fellow analog nerd, so we’ll be doing some crafty things, too. Crafts and horror movies! Sounds about right. 😉

Last one, friends. I’m not looking forward to the week after symptom-fest, but I am here for it. My water bottle is being prepared as I type this. 😉

Surgery

The surgery is scheduled for February 23rd…which is a long ways away. At least right now, it is. But it’ll go by quickly. The festivities start on the 21st with tests and procedures and appointments. Please cross your fingers and toes I won’t contract COVID before then – that would push out surgery quite a ways, and might mean another round of chemo (surgery has to be 4-6 weeks after the final treatment). Hospitals here are inundated with cases, so it’s a real possibility I could have it and have to push out surgery. (My COVID test for surgery is February 22nd.)

Wish me luck!

Wishing you best of luck and hope all goes well. You’re a great inspiration and example of how to stay positive and take charge.
