Just Another Day

Holiday Weekend

It’s been a good weekend! The kids got to stay up late to pick up Auntie Lindsay from the airport. We’ve been doing fun things with the kids so far.

We trekked down to Rochester on Sunday morning for my pre-surgery COVID test – it was negative. Cuz we were super worried about that. I was actually nervous about the swab. It was not as bad as I imagined. The swab was tinier (here I was picturing a Q-tip).

Instead of staying over in Rochester for part of the week, everyone came and we tried to find cool places to take the kids…butttttttttttttttt everything is closed. We stopped at French Meadow Bakery where they didn’t remember Mae’s or my orders. LOL Then Mae proceeded to eat a huge portion of adult-sized French toast.

My favorite part of the day was Lindsay helping Evelyn learn how to tie her shoes.

maybe I got a little teary

The kids start school tomorrow – which sucks to miss. Glad we got some quality time in and things felt normal for more than a day.

Linds and I are down in Rochester at the moment (in a really nice hotel!). We ordered snacks and dinner and caught Ragnorok on TV.

I’ll be up a bit early to do an ultrasound – this is actually part of a study with Mayo. I opted in because they’ll track the tumor growth/shrinkage as I go through chemo – I thought that would help my peace of mind.

9 o’clock is my lung procedure. I’ll be under for that. Then later in the afternoon, the axilla biopsy.

My GP messaged me about flu and COVID shots. I’m squeezing them in early next week. I really want to get them now before chemo starts. I’ll get the booster alongside the flu shot – get it all done at once. Chemo still hasn’t been scheduled, but I expect to get that scheduled this week.

Two surgeries this week, and I’m glad to have my bestie by my side.
