Day 2 After Chemo
All things considered, I’m doing pretty well. Heartburn/acid reflux seems to be the worst of it, next to the jaw pain (yep!). I’ll call the nurses tomorrow and see if I should just take OTC meds for this or get an ongoing prescription.
I do have a bit of neuropathy in my left arm. Moving about seems to do the trick for now. Same thing for fuzziness – I do feel kinda dizzy if I’m stationary too long. I am tired and a little slow, but I did manage to check things off my list today. Drinking lots of water seems to help for dry mouth and hunger pains. Food is tasting pretty bland – nothing terrible, though. No big aversions for food or smells yet.
The Tracking System(s)
You knew I was a planner, and now you will know some of what I obsess about. 😉
The gray zip planner is where I keep track of treatment notes and symptoms. It’s got business card holders for my care team, a cash book so I can keep track of all my medical payments.
The brown traveler actually has three notebooks in it – that’s where I keep my daily tasks, journal, and other notes. I am a fountain pen user, so the daily notebooks I use are all ink-friendly. So while I’m planning boring stuff, I still get to play with pens!
I’ve got a little basket I carry this stuff in that includes my treatment stuff – remedies, meds, temp. I carry it with me where I park for the moment. It’s handy!
I also try to keep track of things I did for myself (painted nails, wrote a letter, etc.), gratitude shout-outs, things like that.
And speaking of…
I forgot to post this totally adorbs photos of Becky bonding with the kiddos.
These are the moments that bring me lots of happiness. <3
And if I needed more happiness, Lindsay just completed the BERLIN MARATHON.
You want to talk about strength, this woman has been through a lot. She trained her way through physical and mental setbacks and fucking ran the thing.
Pretty proud to call these humans my friends.
